Ourmotto

Left Behind K-9 Rescue lives by the quote from Karen Davidson that says, “Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.”

We specialize in rescuing pets with severe medical needs who come our way via our shelter and veterinary partners. LBK9 covers 100% of all medical needs and expenses for all our rescues until they are adopted.

Our story

Left Behind K-9 Rescue was inspired by a dog named Tommy. LBK9 Founder Jeff Boyd adopted Tommy, a senior Pomeranian with a one-of-a-kind personality and a loving heart. Jeff’s experience adopting and supporting Tommy opened his eyes to the millions of homeless pets out there who were left behind for one reason or another. When Tommy left us, Jeff promised him he would do whatever it took to save the lives of homeless pets who have nowhere else to turn.

How weoperate

LBK9’s operations are a four-step process:

  1. Rescue dogs and cats with severe medical needs.
  2. Transport animals to homes in our foster network.
  3. Rehabilitate the animals and pay for their medical needs, including microchipping, spay/neuter, surgeries, and other care.
  4. Facilitate flawless adoptions through a rigorous application process.

Come Together 7

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic forced our annual Come Together fundraising event to be a virtual event in 2020. While we missed seeing our supporters in person at the Snoqualmie Casino, the virtual format allowed us to show what we do to a broader audience. Check out the virtual CT7 to learn more about what we do and to meet the animals we save and the people who make it possible:
